Dr Mugilan Anandarajan provides consultant-led assessment and management of children with suspected or confirmed food allergies and other allergic conditions.
Our multidisciplinary approach combines paediatric medical assessment with dietitian involvement where dietary advice or nutritional support is needed. This may be particularly helpful for children avoiding foods, managing multiple food allergies or needing support with nutritional intake and growth.
Dr Anandarajan develops an individual clinical management plan and arranges dietitian involvement where appropriate. Dietitian consultations may take place separately, with booking arrangements and any additional fees explained to families.

Dr Mugilan Anandarajan reviews your child's symptoms and medical history and discusses which investigations, if any, are needed. Where clinically appropriate and arranged for the appointment, skin prick testing can take place during the same visit, with results explained alongside your child's history.
This complements our multidisciplinary approach, with dietitian involvement where dietary advice and nutritional support are required.
Some children need blood tests, further assessment or follow-up before their diagnosis and management plan can be completed.
Delayed Food Allergies in Children
Dr Mugilan Anandarajan assesses suspected delayed food allergies, including non-IgE-mediated cow's milk allergy. Care may include an individual elimination plan with dietitian support, eczema and skin barrier treatment, and planned food reintroduction with a parent-held symptom diary. The aim is to clarify the diagnosis, manage symptoms and protect nutrition while avoiding unnecessary food restrictions.

Dr Mugilan Anandarajan
Consultant Paediatrician with a Special Interest in Allergy, Eczema & Respiratory Conditions
Dr Anandarajan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and holds an MD from Queen's University Belfast, a Postgraduate Certificate in Allergy and a Diploma in Asthma Management. He has over 25 years of clinical experience, including as a Consultant Paediatrician at the Ulster Hospital and across NHS Trusts in Northern Ireland.
He is a member of the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI), fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), and has published articles in journals. He practises at Kingsbridge Private Hospital (Lisburn Road) and Ulster Independent Clinic (Stranmillis Road), Belfast, and is recognised by all major private health insurers.

Consultant-Led Care
Every appointment is personally conducted by Dr Anandarajan, Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in allergy — FRCPCH, MD, PGCert Allergy. Each consultation includes clinical assessment and an individual management plan. Further tests or follow-up may be needed to clarify the diagnosis.
Same-Week Appointments

Results at the Appointment
Skin prick test results are available within 15–20 minutes. Where specific IgE blood tests are required, results typically take 2–3 weeks. Each consultation includes clinical assessment and an individual management plan. Further tests or follow-up may be needed to clarify the diagnosis.
